Dental Extractions

If you are in need of dental extractions, Westgate Smiles can help. Our compassionate team can provide procedures to meet all needs, and do so in a caring manner that helps to preserve your oral health as much as possible. We provide both simple extractions (when the tooth can be removed through standard means) and surgical extractions (which requires surgical access) depending on your needs, and do both with the utmost of care.

When Are Dental Extractions Required?

Surgical extractions may be required for many different reasons. They are typically recommended in situations where a simple extraction is not possible – for example, in those situations where the tooth is too damaged to remove or where it has not fully erupted through the gum. Dental extractions are often required for situations including, but not limited to:

  • Tooth impaction (including the wisdom teeth)

  • Extensive damage or trauma to the teeth

  • The existence of supernumerary teeth

  • Extensive gum disease

  • Teeth need to be properly fitted for dentures

Our dentist at Westgate Smiles will discuss with you whether you are in need of dental extractions, and can also help guide you through other steps of the process. This may include performing a socket graft. A socket graft is a procedure that helps to rebuild or to preserve the bone in the socket left behind after extractions, which is often recommended for those who will have a dental implant after the procedure is finished. Once the procedure is over, we will send you home with care instructions to help ensure the success of the procedure, any socket graft that you may have had, and that will help to prevent issues such as dry socket or infection of the gum.

How Much Will My Tooth Extraction Cost?

Exact tooth extraction cost depends on a number of different factors, such as whether the tooth must be removed through a simple or surgical extraction, or whether a socket graft will be performed with the procedure. The team at Westgate Smiles will discuss your options with you, including available payment options and payment plans to help with your tooth extraction cost.
